'Hunc librum fecit scribi et finiri quarto die marcii Anno domini Millesimo quadrigentesimo octuagesimo secundo Indictione prima per manum Iacobi sybbalde capellani Honorabilis vir Robertus arbuthnot de eodem filius quondam Bone memorie ac deo deuoti David arbuthnot de eodem. quorum animabus propicietur ihc xpc Amen.' (colophon in main hand, fol. 142r). 'Liber iste psalmorum dauitticorum ad sacrum sacellum Gloriose Virginis spectat eidemque libere a Roberto arbuthnot eiusdem fundatore traditus Anno domini 1506' (fol. iiiv).

Ownership:

Transferred after the dissolution to Arbuthnott House (Lord Arbuthnott). Sold at Sotheby's 10 Dec. 1897 to Archibald Coates of Woodside, Paisley, who presented it to the Free Library at Paisley, now the Museum and Art Gallery. Medieval stamped binding.

Written by James Sybbald; his obit (22 Aug. 1507) is added to the kalendar of the missal.
