A note written at Norwich in 1538 records that it was to go Babwell after the death of Fr. Thomas Goddard; it belonged earlier to a friar of Lynn:

(fol. 90r) a musical cipher reading: 'Liber fratris Nicholai Philip de custodia Cantebrigie et conuentus Lennie';

'Liber iste post decessum fratris et fratris Thome Goddard bachalarii spectat ad conuentum fratrum minorum Babwellie exaratum Norwici a.d. 1538'.

Philip's name occurs in several places with dates in the 1440s.
