There are scribbles (s. xvii): 'Be it knowne vnto all men . . . that I Daniell Smythson of Burrowbridge' and 'Thomas Smithsons booke' (both at sig. a.ii), and 'Daniel Smithson was seke of an ague the xx2th of March 1610'.

'Sir William How: Nowarde' (sig. a.iii). It appears in the list of early printed books and manuscripts at Castle Howard: Household Books of Lord William Howard, Surtees Society (1878), p. 486.
